Cindy Brown, founder and owner, is multi-talented with a very diverse background.
Her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute, College of art led to a four year stint at CBS Records in New York, working on album cover art for artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Meat Loaf, and Miles Davis. She continued her work in graphic design in Los Angeles for CBS Television and other prestigious companies in real estate.
Passionate about animals she switched her focus to the plight of animal overpopulation, working with the ASPCA and then with a New York Veterinarian as a veterinary technician. She returned to school to earn an Associate in Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology and although not actively practicing, she is a licensed veterinary Nurse in New York State.
As a child spending summers first in Fire Island and then the Hamptons, she was always drawn to the water and boats. Vacations to the Caribbean and Mediterranean further enhanced her nautical interest and sparked her curiosity of various upscale locales. Seeking to professionally connect her love of travel with boats, she accepted a position in 1996 at the Camper & Nicholson’s representative office in New York. The following year she incorporated her own business with her vision of a highly personalised yacht charter agency.
In 2004, she was invited to join forces as a charter broker with Nigel Burgess and established their New York office. While she enjoyed working within a large company format for four years, she missed the individualised charter services that she had been able to provide with her own company. In 2008 she resumed operations as charter broker at the helm of Ultra Marine Yacht Charters.
She is an active member of the AYCA (American Yacht Charter Association), FYBA (Florida Yacht Brokers Association) and a past member of CYBA (Charter Yacht Broker’s Association) and MYBA (Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association).
